observations and source evidence

Governed Environmental Observation — Built Logic Information Programme
GEO’BLIP is an emerging MGRA approach to governed, traceable built-environment information. It is how MGRA keeps observation, evidence and professional judgement distinct — so that what was seen on site can still be followed in the record.
Why it exists.
GEO’BLIP exists so that observations, evidence, context and professional assessment remain connected and traceable. It is how MGRA structures and carries forward field information.
Public information pathway.
These steps are described at client level only. They are not a public software architecture.
Capture → Review → Confirm → Structure / Govern → Inform
professional assessment and human oversight
controlled acceptance, amendment or rejection before admission to the governed record
context, location and the logic of the building; the record remains controlled
clear records and professional outputs
In development.
GEO’BLIP is being developed through controlled MGRA workflows and private demonstrations before any wider commercial release.
This page introduces the approach. It does not offer unrestricted platform access, and it is not a substitute for professional advice.
Professional judgement remains the point.
Professional review remains accountable for the advice. Technology supports the surveyor; it does not replace one.
See Professional governance for RICS regulation and the responsible use of AI.
How buildings are recorded.
Where an instruction requires it, MGRA records buildings through photographic and spatial capture methods. The methods support the surveyor. They do not replace professional judgement.
A governed spatial control reference within GEO’BLIP, linking controlled information to its context or specific spatial position.
Photographic capture
Photographs record what was seen, as source evidence under an MGRA instruction.
Mobile LiDAR / SLAM
Mobile LiDAR / SLAM collects spatial information while the surveyor moves through and around an asset.
Terrestrial laser scanning
Terrestrial laser scanning records high-density spatial evidence from controlled survey positions.
UAV capture
UAV capture can contribute locational and visual evidence where it forms part of an instruction.
Positioning
Positioning locates observations in space.
These methods do not form an automated end-to-end pipeline. Processed point clouds, CAD or BIM outputs are not claimed here.
From capture to the professional record.
Capture is not the end product. Evidence comes before assertion. Observation is not automatically a professional conclusion.
Observations are reviewed, confirmed and structured into the controlled record. The evidential path remains capable of being followed through the record.
Under MGRA.
GEO’BLIP sits under MGRA as its technology and methodology identity. It is not a separate business or independent professional practice.
- MGRA is the professional practice.
- MGRA structures field information and evidence.
- BLIP supports governed capture and processing.
- Technology supports the surveyor; it does not replace one.
